| Cross
the road to bridleway 7, the entrance is in the
lay-by and ride along the concrete path towards
the rear of the HSBC training centre.
Go left at the end of he
concrete path onto the track, which is about 500m
in length. Here you can have a safe canter, but
slow down as you approach Drop Lane .
Watch out for the ruts in the path.
Cross the road and cross
the River Ver, follow the path through Willow
Island . (Herts. CC have just reinstated the path)
and then cross the River Colne.
Follow the path around to
a T-junction and go left.
Follow this path for about 1000m (possible canters)
until you come to a house & buildings on your
left known as Netherwylde Farm. Recently the path
has been moved
away from the house, but keep going forward along
this path and you will come across cottages on
you left and right.
Continue
over the bridge and up towards Radlett Road A5183.
Go left
here and continue along the road for about 1000m.
When you pass the
entrance to Old Parkbury Estate take the lane
on your left. This lane will bring you out by
Moor Mill Restaurant.
Go left here up
along Smug Oak Lane on the bridlepath to the stables.
This section of
Smug Oak Lane used to be called Vinegar Hill,
because it is very sharp. (be careful).
